As devotees of life-long learning and development, here at UP we love it when we are able to support people with their own development. Whether it be helping clients with coaching and mentoring, running development programmes or training schemes, or even learning about your behavioural and learning style through psychometrics. It’s such an interesting and rewarding field.
We always aim to practice what we preach too, so are delighted to have been supporting two of our latest members of the UP team as they progress with their own development.
Today we’re proud to say that Kayleigh Knight, our Receptionist and Zoe Lumsden, our Events and Marketing Administrator (pictured) have achieved their Level 2 SVQ in Business and Administration!
The scheme was coordinated, supported, verified and assessed by Catriona Sloan of Polaris Learning and funded by Skills Development Scotland.
Having received their certificates yesterday, the girls have written a blog to share their experience.
“Yaaaay! We have recently completed a level 2 SVQ in Business and Administration and just received certificates for all our fabulous work.
“It was back in September last year when our Business Support Director, Sharon, suggested that we look into doing an SVQ and see what it was all about. After some research we both liked the idea of taking on the challenge, so Sharon found us a mentor called Catriona from Polaris who would help us through.
“After Catriona’s first visit we were both given a module to try to complete. When we started gathering evidence for our modules we realised how much work we had done in the short period of time we had been working for The Urquhart Partnership. We are so lucky to be working for such a great company who gave us the opportunity to do our SVQ’s. They all helped and supported us through. THANKS TUP!!!
“We both really enjoyed doing our SVQ’S and it helped to boost our confidence in our job roles. It showed us skills we never knew we had and it helped us to develop our strengths. We both learnt a lot of new things that will help us in the future. We also helped each other, we were always there to encourage each other and if there was anything we didn’t understand we were able to ask.
“We are both really grateful for all Catriona’s help. She always made sure we were comfortable and understood what we had to do. She never put any pressure on us to have things completely finished as she knew at times we would be busy with work we had to get done. Without Catriona’s help, guidance and support it would have been very difficult for us to complete our SVQ’s. Thank you Catriona!
“After a lot of hard work, we managed to complete the qualification by the middle of December. Check us out – speedy or what! And so here we are now with our qualifications and certificates!”
Well done Kayleigh and Zoe!! We’re all very proud of you! Love TUP! Xx
