Humpty Dumpty fell off the rig…

Humpty Dumpty fell off the rig,
He shouldn’t have sat there, but just didn’t twig,
The safety rep had warned him, the very same day,
But bad communication had got in the way!

Not many people like having to stand up and speak in front of others, but most of the time, getting their messages across effectively won’t mean the difference between life and death.

Except for people in charge of Health and Safety.

Delivering Health & Safety messages effectively is a critical part in ensuring that employees’ wellbeing is protected. But that doesn’t mean to say that everyone finds it easy:

Imagine you’re presenting your toolbox talk, and once again that guy at the back is talking to his mate next to him. Meanwhile someone else has dozed off, and for the few who have managed to stay awake, you’re not entirely sure they’ve listened to or understood what you’ve said.

Sound familiar?

Nerves, poor preparation, communication styles and dodgy looking presentations can all have a negative affect on the success of the message you are trying to communicate.

That’s why UP is pleased to be offering new Safety Presentation Skills Training; tailored courses which are designed to help you:

  • Overcome the ‘fear’
  • Plan & prepare your presentation
  • Make full use of multi-media
  • Utilise the power of words & language
  • Rehearse effectively
  • Handle your audience and tackle tricky questions
  • And most importantly: Get your message across
