Ok, deep breath…
I don’t know if you realised, but some of us here at UP are a little bit geeky about social media.
There! We said it.
…Oh, you already knew? What gave it away?
Anyway, now that you know, we just wanted to tell you how excited we are that Social Media week (19th -23rd Sept) will be landing in Aberdeen 2 weeks today!
On the last day of a fantastic week which will see events take place around the world, fellow social media aficionados across the North-East of Scotland will be able to attend Aberdeen’s dedicated event – a day full of brilliant seminars and discussions about social media for business. The event will be hosted by the social media “ubergeeks” from Freelanceworld in their funky new Creative Space.
What makes it even more exciting is:
1. It’s FREE!
2. There will be coffee and cakes provided for a good cause (the event will also be part of the Macmillan Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning! So please bring a donation…)
3. They’re letting us speak at it
That’s right – The Urquhart Partnership’s Managing Director, Campbell Urquhart, will be there to host the final seminar of the day to discuss our very own social media story and the tangible benefits it’s had for our business.
So whether you’re an absolute beginner, fully fledged twittering nut, a budding blogger or are curious to find out about how social media could work for you, then come along and join in the fun!
Click here to find out more about the range of seminars taking place on the day and register to attend.
You can also join in the fun and keep up to date by using the twitter hashtag: #SMWAbz
PS – if you don’t know what a hashtag is, you REALLY need to attend.

It is probably down to my Luddite tendencies, but how do I Register for the Aberdeen bit on 23rd?
Glasgow appears on the drop down, but not Aberdeen.

Hi Geoff – you’re on the right tracks – if you go to Glasgow on the drop down, and then click on Friday, Aberdeen should be one of the 1st events.
Here is a direct link which should hopefully take you straight there:
